REHABILITATION

Parivartan along with Mental Health Institute (MHI) Sector 32, Chandigarh provides vocational rehabilitation for persons with mental illness in a variety of trades viz. Masala grinding and packaging unit, cutting & tailoring unit, Art & craft unit, paper recycling unit, kitchen and bakery unit etc. Parivartan provides vocational instructors and raw material to run various sections and takes the responsibility of marketing and selling of product made by person with Mental Illness. The remuneration/salary earned by patients while working in these sections gives a great boost to their self confidence and many are able to shift to competitive employment in the open market. Thirty six patients are currently enrolled in the vocational sections run through parivartan at DART services. During the pandemic face to face interactions were not possible, so Parivartan has initiated online tele Pychosocial services. It has been started on 10 October 2020 to observe Mental Health Day and is continuing.
